VANCOUVER'S BEST + BRIGHTEST FOOD CARTS AND RESTAURANTS CONVERGE AT THE CITY’S BIGGEST ANNUAL FOOD EVENT

11am - 8pm 

YVR Food Fest’s flagship event! Upwards of 80 food carts and restaurants will be on hand. Each one will offer up an affordable tasting menu items that allows one to sample as many different food carts and restaurants as they can handle. This feeding frenzy will be complemented by pairings from the top breweries, wineries, and distilleries in the province. At the end of the event, attendees will vote on their favourites and winners will be declared in a variety of categories.

CELEBRATE CANADA’S 150th BIRTHDAY WITH GREAT FOOD, BEER, AND MUSIC

Saturday, July 1

A gigantic Austin-style outdoor party with bands, DJs, and, of course, amazing food, the Canada Day Cookout will be one of the city’s biggest celebrations. The event will feature some of the top bands + DJs in the city, while the culinary aspect will be based around the idea of pairing great tasting BBQ staples (everything from dogs and burgers to brisket and ribs) with great local craft beer. 

The musical lineup includes Light Organ Records singer-songwriter Jessicka, Mint Records pop-punk artists Supermoon, dream pop group Jody Glenham and the Dreamers, new wave act Gang Signs, tropical indie pop band Leisure Club, and 10-piece afrobeat outfit Camaro 67. Providing music between sets will be local club favourites the Common People DJs.

A unique event, and the first of it’s kind in Vancouver! A gigantic outdoor brunch that feature every conceivable type of delicious brunch fare from some of the city’s best restaurants and cafés. In addition to the main event, we’ll be staging multiple food/drink events: a Caesar competition, a breakfast sandwich cook-off, and a cold-brew kegger featuring the city’s best coffee roasters.

After a successful inaugural event last year, the event is back with an even more diverse lineup to offer local and international perspectives on food. Food For Thought is speaker series of genuine and personal stories about food-related topics that engage, provoke, and inspire. The event also includes a panel discussion with audience participation.Taking the stage this year are include chef Angus An from Maenam and Fat Mao; chef Andrea Carlson from Burdock and Co and Harvest; food educator Camille Flanjak from Museum Eats, TV host and author Desiree Nielsen Host of Urban Vegetarian on Gusto TV, Chef Jair Téllez from Vancouver’s Fayuca and Mexico’s Laja, MeroToro, and Amaya; and Herbalist Cease Wyss from Raven and Hummingbird Tea Co.

GATHER DINNER SERIES | JUNE 27,28,30

Pacific Restaurant Supply presents Gather, a series of communal dinners that boast some of the city’s top culinary talent cooking alongside visiting culinary stars. These unforgettable meals feature pairings from the province’s top wineries. The dress code may be casual, but the meals will be sumptuous four-star delights. Attendees can come with a group or come alone and leave with new friends. There are three Gather dinners taking place at our host restaurant Fayuca, and there are only 60 tickets available for each one.

 

TUESDAY, JUNE 27th
TIJUANA MEETS TEL AVIV
FAYUCA RESTAURANT (1009 Hamilton St)

 

Tijuana meets Tel Aviv on Tuesday, June 27 is a six-course meal and features chefs Asaf Doktor from Tel Aviv, Martin Vargas from Tijuana, and Ernesto Gomez from Vancouver. Visiting chef Asaf Doktor is a pioneer in Israeli farm-to-table cuisine. His acclaimed restaurant Dok was recently received a glowing review in the New York Times. Martin Vargas and Ernesto Gomez can both regularly be found in the kitchen at Northern Pacific Mexican restaurant Fayuca—the latter is also a partner at beloved local Lebanese chain Nuba.

From Baja to Chiang Mai on Wednesday, June 28 is a four course meal and features chefs Angus An from Vancouver and Jair Tellez from Mexico City. Angus An is the celebrated local chef behind Maenam and Fat Mao Noodles. Jair Tellez has emerged as one of Mexico’s most important and progressive chefs. His restaurants Laja, MeroToro, and Amaya have been featured in the New York Times and listed among the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. He is also a partner at host restaurant Fayuca.

SIX CHEF SUMMIT

Six Chef Summit on Friday, June 30 is a six course meal and features chefs Andrea Carlson from Burdock & Co, Angus An from Maenam and Fat Mao Noodles, Martin Vargas from Fayuca, and Zach Somjen from Farmer’s Apprentice. They’ll be cooking alongside visiting culinary stars Asaf Doktor, from the acclaimed Dok in Tel Aviv and Jair Tellez, who has emerged as one of Mexico’s most important and progressive chefs with his restaurants Laja, MeroToro, and Amaya.
